Taiwan’s annual National Day celebrations kick off this Saturday, October 10, and rehearsals are underway. This year, disaster prevention and social resilience will be highlighted, with helicopters simulating search and rescue operations.
Red, blue, and white smoke trails are left in the sky over the Presidential Office Building, the Thunder Tigers team once again showcasing their superb formation and aerobatic skills.
Also featuring Lockheed P-3C Orion and C-130H Hercules transport planes, the full-force aerial drills, including an aerial parade, took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 6, as a pre-National Day rehearsal. Speedier aircraft, such as the Dassault Mirage 2000, Indigenous Defense Fighters, and Lockheed F-16V Vipers, also joined the practice, showcasing their capabilities.
Military police, riding Challenger Indian motorcycles, maintained distance, balance, and steering consistency while maneuvering through various challenging formations.
This year’s Double Ten National Day celebration incorporated disaster prevention and societal resilience into its theme. The National Air Service Corps and the Taipei City Fire Department conducted a highly immersive simulated helicopter search and rescue operation. The drills even included police and fire rescue dogs.
The highlight, a magnificent rifle show by the three armed forces band and honor guard, was naturally included. The practice run looks like October 10 will be a flawless National Day event, so that the Taiwanese people can celebrate together and wish their country a very happy 115th.
